Terms of use

The short version: use the tools freely, share the charts with credit, and don’t use the site to signal for help in a real emergency.

Using the site

Morse Universe is free to use, with no account. You may use the tools for any lawful purpose. Please don’t try to break the site, overload it, or copy it wholesale to pass off as your own.

What you type

The tools run in your browser, so the text, sound, pictures and video you give them stay on your device. The privacy page lists the few things the site does learn.

Not for emergencies

The SOS page, the flashlight and the sound are for learning and practice. In a real emergency, call your local emergency number. Don’t rely on a phone screen or a browser to signal for help.

Check results that matter

The decoders read sound, pictures and video, and a noisy recording or a blurred photo can be misread. The audio decoder shows how sure it is of every letter. Check anything important before you act on it.

The printable charts

The printable charts are free to print, copy and share, including in classrooms and clubs. Keep the morseuniverse.com line on the sheet. Selling them, or presenting them as your own, needs written permission.

What you make with the generators

The tattoo designs, bracelet patterns and worksheets you make are yours to use, including on things you sell. Check the spelling of anything permanent with the translator first.

The embed

You may put the translator embed on any site, free. Keep the credit link the code places under the frame, and don’t change what shows inside it.

The API

The API is free and needs no key. Each address can make 60 requests a minute, and a request carries up to 5,000 characters. Traffic that tries to get around the limit may be blocked. The API may change or stop, and the docs will say so first where possible.

No warranty

The site is provided as it is, without any warranty. As far as the law allows, Morse Universe isn’t liable for any loss that comes from using it or from being unable to use it.

Other sites

Some pages link to other sites, such as the ITU and ARRL. Those sites have their own terms, and Morse Universe isn’t responsible for them.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. The date below shows the last change, and using the site after it means you accept the new terms.
